Baby Compton is here

Baby Compton was born this morning at 4:50 am weighing 4 lbs. 13 oz and 18 inches long. She is a little more than 6 weeks early so will be in the NICU for a while. Her arrival was obviously a surprise so no name yet and they are both a little shocked. Baby is having trouble breathing and is under an oxygen tent. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers and I'll find out if/when they are ready for visitors, etc. Welcome Baby Compton!

PS...sorry if you received this info via email from me. I wanted to make sure everyone got the message

Prayers for Baby Compton

Just received a text from Virginia that her water broke around 6 pm. She is around 32-33 weeks, I believe. They are keeping her in the hospital until the baby is born but not sure yet when that will be. In her words, "could be hours, could be weeks". She will keep us updated but in the meantime please keep them in your prayers. I will let you all know if there is more we can do to help. Thanks, Janessa

Joys & Concerns 7/31

Here are the joys and concerns for the week:

Jason Lax's coworker's husband passed away suddenly.

The Lax's dog, Sophie, may need to have surgery for a herniated disc.

Emily W. had an allergic reaction after eating peanut butter but is doing much better now.

Angie's sister is expecting.

Victor's best friend's wife is dealing with a lot of pain following her double mastectomy.

Karla & Keenan are still working on getting their office fixed from flooding.

Keenan is under a lot of stress at work right now.

Karla will be having a test done on Friday.

Virginia is doing well, and we all enjoyed her baby shower Saturday!

Happy Birthday Lily on August 6th!

Have a great week everyone! :)

Officer Elections

Hello everyone. I posted the officer election via the zoomerang website using imported emails that I had on everyone. Keep an eye out for it. If you did not receive it, I most likely have a bad email for you. Let me know and I'll send you the link.

Thanks,
Wayne

Prayer Request Update

Here is an update from the Hlavaty's on their friend's son, Kyle:

He woke up on Friday, and has only shown minimal brain damage in the tests they have done since. They moved him out of ICU yesterday.

Kyle is doing SO well. He ate pancakes today and walked around the room. He did perfect when the neurologist examined him. He knows what year it is. He knows he's in the hospital because he's sick. His eyes are swollen and he is coughing a lot because he still has a little fluid in his lung. But he is doing very well and we are very excited.

Not sure if they have a formal diagnosis on what happened, but he seems to be doing well so far. Still at least another week in the hospital as far as I know.

Treasurer's Update

Hi!  I hope everyone is having a great week.  Here is a treasury update since my last on 4/30:

Previous Balance (as of 4/30/11)            $2,573.55
Deposits (since 4/30)                               267.00
Withdrawls:
     Pastoral Care                                         (120.00)
     Mission-Dr. Nancy and Larry                    (200.00)

Balance 7/25/11                                $2,520.55

Paid in Full Update to be paid 10/2011:
At my last update we had $1087 towards our $1500 to be paid in October 2011, to that we will add one half of the deposits above or $134 making our paid in full balance accumulated of $1221! So there is $279 remaining to get to the $1500 we owe.  We have just 3 more months as we have to pay this by 10/31/11.  It should be noted that since we have only added $240 to this in 5 months so we need to have better weeks in the next 3 months if we're going to get there without dipping into the additional money in the treasury for other things.  The amount remaining in the treasury right now that is not reserved for paid in full is about $1300.

I will make a deposit tomorrow for those of you who have written checks.

Hope to see everyone on Sunday!
Ashlea

Prayer Requests

Karla shared some prayer requests with me:

There was a flood in their office on Thursday, and thankfully it was just a pipe and not a foundation problem! It is all fixed except for the dry wall, carpet pad, and getting the room put back together.

Their neighbor's son passed away from brain cancer at the age of 41.

Karla's boss is recovering from a hysterectomy.

Please keep these concerns in your prayers. Have a great week!
