Joys & Concerns

Hello - hope everyone is gearing up for the upcoming 4th of July weekend. Looking forward to that long weekend, but not the heat of course. This pass Sunday we started our new Summer Study, A Celebration of Discipline. Chad led the first weeks discussion on prayer. Here are this weeks joys and concerns:

- We were blessed with visitors this past Sunday! Nick & Sarah Burkett of Frisco and Philip & Amy Hlavaty of Allen. Welcome, we are glad to have you!
- Caleb Garcia was baptised on Sunday.
- Please keep Jarod's sister in your prayers. She is due/expecting first child this week.
- Chad requesting prayer for a family member, Teresa, who has terminal cancer.
- Karla has encountered round 2 of switching work sites. Please pray for a smooth transition.
- The Woods will be traveling to Mexico for Lesley's sisters wedding.
- Please pray for all those traveling during the upcoming week.

Lastly, I received a heart-warming email from Suzanne today. She has decided to join the Transformers Sunday School class for singles. She wanted everyone to know how appreciative she is of the love & support she has received from 2B1. Personally, saying she will be missed is an understatement and we were truly blessed by God to have her in our class.

I hope everyone has a great 4th of July. We will be out of town this week but look forward to seeing everyone the following Sunday.

Take care.

Parker Grant Rushing

Hi all...Just spoke to Ginny. Parker Grant Rushing was born today around 11 or 12 pm and weighed almost 8 lbs. He was delivered 2 1/2 weeks early due to the kidney problems Ginny was having.

Please keep them in your prayers this week as Parker is having some lung issues. The Rushings don't know much more than his lung xray was clear and he seems to be okay.

Mike's family is going to try to reschedule their flights and get here to help with Tyler, but they may need our help until then. If you can assist, please call me (Janessa) at home (214-495-8047) or cell (469-585-8116) and I'll coordinate.

Welcome to the world, baby Parker!!!!

Journey help this summer

We discussed in class Sunday the need for Journey (elementary) Sunday School teachers again this summer. So we don't have the problem of having uncovered weeks again this summer we are only volunteering for what we have signed up in advance. Please look at the list below and if you can help with a particular week please sign up. We need two per week but if you don't know someone who can do it with you sign up anyway and we'll figure it out.

It is pretty simple as a whole. The kids will have a shepherd adult that is with them every week. We just have to facilitate the discussion, project or game that is set out for us. I think most people who particpated last summer had a good time with it.

July 6 -
July 13 -
July 20 - Oldham
July 27 - Wilkins (tentative)
Aug 3 - Lincoln
Aug 10 - Wood
Aug 17 - Lax
Aug 24 -
