Upcoming Events

Hi guys...

A couple of events to share from the church over the next few weeks.

1. Don't forget that the 3-Day team has a fundraiser this Wednesday night at Mooyah Burgers in Allen. Come for dinner and simply mention the CRUMC team and we'll receive 15%+ of the proceeds!

2. If we are considering the Rough Riders game as a class social we need to order the tickets by Sunday, Aug 1st thru Joy Ferguson. The game is Saturday, August 28th. The $15 ticket includes admission to the game, all you can eat food thru the 6th inning and a baseball cap. The Revelation Choir will be singing the National Anthem. 220 tickets have been purchased so far - they are hoping to sell more.

3. On Tuesday, August 3rd 6:30-8:30 pm in Fellowship Hall A/B business coach, Kathy Light, will be speaking on how to realize your God-given potential in the workforce and why it's important to remind yourself of this potential. We're considering going, so let us know if you are too. :)

Thanks, Janessa

Joys and Concerns:

Allyson was baptized this morning and officially welcomed into the Custer Road church family.

Today we had a great lesson led by Janessa. The focus was teaching our children how to have the skills to deal with the harder aspects of life. Next week will be the last week of the parenting study and the topic is developing morality and spirituality.

Happy Birthday to Ashlea Today July 18!
Happy 7 years of marriage to Paul and Martha on July 19th!
Happy Anniversary to Victor and Angie, eleven years on July 24th!

July Mission:
We are collecting new teen and junior size socks, underwear, and t-shirts for My Friend's House youth shelter. Please bring the items to class by Sunday July 25th. Email Victor at victor@landmarkpremier.us if you have any questions.

Also this week when you have time take a look at the survey Michael sent out. We will be having a class planning session/brunch Sunday August 1st. The feedback from the survey will help us continue to improve as a class and have an even better year next year.

Have a wonderful week,
Julie

Just confirmed the booking for this Saturday night (7/17). My band will be playing at Hibachi Rock in McKinney. It is located in the Target shopping center at Custer and 121. Show starts at 730pm. It is a Japanese restaurant/Hibachi place. Food is awesome and the music will be even better.

Great idea for Saturday date night. We hope to see you there.

another concern

Although, Julie would never post this about herself...I'm asking that we keep her/baby in our thoughts and prayers. Her pre-term labor test came back positive so there is a 50% chance that the baby will be here in next few weeks. She is due at the end of August so we want baby #3 to cook a little longer! Dr. ordered bedrest and taking it easy, but of course that is easier said than done with 2 boys. :)

Sunday, July 4, 2010

Happy 4th of July! I hope everyone got to relax and enjoy some good food, family, friends, and fireworks. This morning we had a great discussion about parenting and teaching your kids to connect with others. Next Sunday Jason Lax is leading the discussion and it is Second Sunday lunch. If you can we would love to have everyone come out for lunch at Fuddruckers after class.

***Happy Birthday to Martha on July 8th!***

Joys & Concerns

Michael's grandfather is in the ICU after spiking a high fever. The doctors think he has contracted a tick born disease. He is improving and will hopefully be back home soon.

Karla's uncle is in the ICU with a brain bleed. The cause is still unknown and it is too soon to tell if he will make a full recovery.

Lane's brother in law, Harold, lost his grandfather this week and his grandmother was moved to hospice.

Phil had oral surgery this week. We hope he is recovering quickly.

Jason Lincoln will be traveling with the church youth this week.

Please keep these families in your thoughts and prayers throughout the week.

Have a great week,
Julie
