9/21 - Joys/Concerns

Hello gang - today we started our 6 week study based on the book Treasures of the Transformed Life by Ed Mathison. Chad taught today's lesson about commitment. Thanks, Chad! (especially the Q&A which included "The Newlywed Game" type questions - those are always fun)

Here are this weeks Joys/Concerns:

- Please continue praying for all the individuals in the Galveston/Houston area that are dealing with the aftermath of Ike.
- Brett has a friend serving in the U.S. Reserves out of Dallas that was involved in a helicopter crash in Iraq. He survived, but there were other casualties. Please continue to keep their families as well as all families having members serving overseas in your prayers.
- Lesley has a co-worker who has a 5 year old daughter, Alexa, that was diagnosed with foot/mouth disease which has led to a staph infection and phenomena. Please keep Alexa in your prayers and for quick recovery.
- Karla's father-in-law is visiting town to help out Kenan with their patio project. Also, Karla's niece turned 1 year old this past week.
- Monday is Kenan's last day of work at his current job and he will be starting a new job on 10/1. Please pray for a smooth transition during this stressful time.
- Lesley has been sick, but now feeling better.

Also, thanks to everyone that helped out with last Sunday's Adult SS Open House and Bake Off! Congrats to the Friendship Class for winning the breakfast breads and cinnamon rolls and to the Couples for Christ Class winning biscuits. Last week we also had a nice turnout for our monthly 2nd Sunday lunch at On The Border.

Next Sunday we will continue the "Treasures" study. The lesson will be titled "Drawing Water: Prayer".

Have a great week and see everyone next Sunday.

Joys/concerns 8/31

Hope you enjoyed your labor-free labor day! On Sunday, Chad taught on Rahab and her faithfulness. Thanks, Chad! Lesley asked that we keep her coworkers in our prayers. Her friend Molly's mom suffered a sudden, massive heart attack last week. Also Kris' husband has diabetes and his kidneys are failing due to a low drop in his blood sugar. Hopefully they will know more after the test results are in. Thanks everyone for uplifting these concerns and any others to our Lord. Have a happy week! Janessa
