Weekly Update

HI everyone,

Hope you're have a great week.

Micheal's surgery went well. He's back home and starting the recovery process. Thank for keeping him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

The Hope's Door meal went very well from what I hear. I think we really did a good thing there . I love seeing what we talk about on Sundays, put into action! Thanks to the White's and Victor for putting that together.

This week's lesson revolves around Disobedience and Excuses. It focuses on the Adam and Eve apple story. Brush up if it's been a while since you read that one. There may be something you've missed.

Brunch this weekend is Mooyah's or Cowboy Chicken, so come hungry.

See you Sunday.

Treasurer's Update

Oh my, it is a miracle, I am updating the Treasury information one month after my last update! This has always been the goal but I am glad to finally be accomplishing it, hopefully I will be able to continue to stay on top of things. We have had a very active month as far as withdrawls for pastoral care, membership, and missions. That's what the money is here for and I'm thrilled to be able to do these things. Please keep this in mind when dropping money in the basket on Sunday's as we need constant contributions to be able to continue to do these things. For those of you like me who like numbers, here are the numbers:

Previous Balance (as of 10/10/10) $2,056.23
Withdrawls:
Pastoral Care (90.00)
Membership Pamplets (72.74)
Meal Mission (150.00)
Deposits (since 10/10) 143.00

Balance 11/10/10 $1,886.49

Paid in Full Update to be paid 10/2011:
In October we had $525 towards our $1500 to be paid in October 2011, to that we will add half of the deposits noted above or $72 making our paid in full balance accumulated of $597. That leaves us with about $1300 to do other missions and things for the time being but if we don't make it to the $1500 through contributions over the next year we will have to take the remainder from the treasury which we need to do other missions and things. We are still not even to the halfway point of $750. Please stay mindful of this as we need to stay committed to what we put on our card last year as well as continue to do other missions and things in the community. Remember you can write checks if you don't have any cash on Sundays! I love seeing us helping out the community through missions and am looking forward to having the resources to do even more!

Have a great week!
Ashlea

Weekly Update

Hi Everyone.

Our mission for the month is preparing a dinner for Hope's Door in Plano Tuesday Night. About 25-30 people. Victor still doesn't have all of the details yet but they are coming. He'll need a group on 2-3 people to help coordinate everything for the evening. Please contact Julie jdswtr@yahoo,com if you can help. So far Amy and Aaron will be helping as Cowboy Chicken is going to be able to help with a lot of the meal. Thanks a bunch guys!

This week we start a new series on Parable for The Backside, Old Testament by Kalas. His studies are always insightful and Michael always does a great job preparing. Should be a great class.

GNO is getting on the calander for the 19th and 20th. More details to follow. Sunday Brunch will be next weekend 11/14/10 and believe it or not Christmas social is around a month away too! Yikes it's that time already again. More to follow of course.

Have a great week,

See you Sunday.

Volunteers for Sunday School Check-In

Please see the note below regarding the need for assistance on Sunday mornings. I think this would be a fun and easy way to serve the church/membership. Please consider giving a little of your time. Thanks so much! Janessa

Hi all!

I’m contacting you to let you know there is need with the check-in system and your help is requested!

As you know, most of our congregation is present at the 9:45 hour and our kiosks have a lot of use during this time. Our staff is often pulled away to correct printer jams, replace labels or help members look up ID numbers rather than welcoming guests appropriately, and assisting teachers and children.

It would be a huge BLESSING if we could have a small volunteer team in place each Sunday to man 4 kiosks areas in the building. If you feel you can give 1-2 Sundays a month from 9:25-9:55 am to alleviate these tasks from our Children’s Ministry leaders, please reply to this email. It will be a very EASY way to serve!

Please let me know if this is something you can do, and I will contact you about specific dates. Thank you so much for your consideration!!!! Hope to hear from you soon.

Thank you,
