I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving holiday. Today we started our Advent study with a video and discussion about worshiping more fully. Next week Chris will continue with the Advent Conspiracy series.

The Christmas Dinner is next Saturday December 5th at the Rodriguez house at 6:30pm. An evite has gone out with details and a sign up list. We are doing the full turkey dinner and as always our ornament exchange. If there are any Texas fans (Wayne) or Nebraska fans out there don't worry we will have the game on upstairs. :) We hope to have everyone join us for this Christmas celebration.

Joys & Concerns:
Jason Lincoln's grandma was admitted to the hospital with a heart arrhythmia. His grandpa who has Alzheimer's is now at home without her assistance. We hope she will be back home soon.

Jason Lax's family friend, Taylor, is continuing to deal with tumor regrowth.

Jason Lax's mother has a neighbor who suffered a heart attack and had bi pass surgery.

Thank you to everyone who brought food today for our class brunch. We enjoyed visiting with each other and giving thanks for our blessings of the past year. Next Sunday Jason Lax will led the first week of our Advent study.

A very happy joy, Amy and Phil are expecting a baby boy in March.

Phil's boss is recovering well from brain surgery and back at work.

Amy's sister, Ann, and Ashlea's parents are looking for new employment.

Michael's parents lost a contract on their house and now must begin the process to sell it again.

A coworker of Erica's has a missing teenager.

Many class members and their families will be traveling this holiday week.

Missions:
We need your Headstart Family gifts by Sunday November 29th. Please bring them unwrapped in a bag labeled with the recipient's name.

Social:
Christmas Dinner Saturday December 5th. Evite will be sent out this week.

Treasurer's Update

Hey All! It's your friendly treasurer and I had plans to post this every month but obviously that hasn't happened yet so here is the first one and hopefully I'll get on a more regular schedule. Here is the what has gone on in the treasury in the past month or so:

Balance 9/30/09 1,161.33

Thanksgiving Mission (50.00)
Reimb. Oct Social (35.00)

Balance 11/18/09 1,329.33

$126 will go into our PIF fund which we will continue to build on over the next several months to reach our end goal of $1500 by October 2011.

Joys for Burkett Family

Just wanted to pass along the news that Sarah and Nick Burkett are expecting their second child in May. Also Nick's mom has been battling some health issues but has recently been moved to the rehabilitation care at the hospital and is improving daily. Today Jason finished up the Making Love a Way of Life book with a discussion about honesty and how to incoporate all seven traits in our daily lives. Next Sunday will be having a class brunch, an evite will go out with a sign up list. We had new guests Scott & Susie and repeat visitor Deborah join us in class this morning. After the Thanksgiving holiday will begin an Advent study.

Joys & Concerns:
Church members Brett & Jerry Wolf lost their son this week. Please keep the Wolf family and the ministers helping them through this in your prayers this week.

Dan & Sherrye welcomed their second daughter into the world on Friday November 13th. Sydney Catherine and mother are doing well. Congratulations to the Naser family.

Missions:
Headstart Family Christmas Wish List- Victor will be sending out a copy of the sign up sheet so people will know what they signed up for.

Amy's sister has been laid off from her job.

Phil's boss had surgery and it went well. His chemo will start soon.

Angie's mom's MRI results were fine.

Karla & Keenan have adopted a new cat, named Lucy.

Emily is sleeping better.

Today lots of good conversation about humility, next week Chad will be teaching out of Seeing Gray. I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weekend.

**Happy Anniversary to Wayne & Julie on November. 4th**

Joys & Concerns:
-Phil's boss has been diagnosed with a brain tumor that has spread to his lungs and he will be starting chemo.
-Angie's mother will be having an MRI on Monday. She has been having dizzy spells and the doctors want to check that out.
-Jamye's mother will be having back surgery soon.
-Erin & Erica have a friend who has been temporarily suspended from teaching, he has hearing tomorrow concerning the future of his job.
-Phil will be traveling for work this week.
Please keep these concerns in your thoughts and prayers throughout the week.

We have lots of things going on in class over the next month.

Missions:
-Victor is working on our Thanksgiving contribution to our Headstart Family. We will probably be doing something like a grocery store gift card or store prepared Thanksgiving meal as we have done in the past.
- A sign up sheet will continue to go around for the Headstart Family Christmas wish list. If you aren't present to sign up in class and want to help out contact Victor.

Socials:
-Dinners for Six.....just remember babysitting is available for those who need it
-Next Sunday is Second Sunday Brunch
-Sunday November 22nd will we be having a class brunch
-The Christmas Party has been set for Saturday December 5th. The Llavatys graciously (and bravely) offered to host. We all jumped on that and took them up on their offer :). We will be doing some sort of Christmas dinner, a sign up sheet and details will come out later.
