Children's Ministry needs your help

Hi all....Just wanted to pass the word along that the Children's Minstry needs your help this summer.

Elementary needs teachers and shepherds, mostly at 9:45. Preschool needs 1 teacher for 3's at 8:30, 3 teachers for 3's at 9:45, and 1 teacher for 4's at 8:30.

Please consider serving, maybe outside of a class mission or on a team. What a fun and easy way to give back to God!

Thanks, Janessa

Missions Update

Hi everyone. This is the last week of the "Supplies for the Troops" mission this month. I'll deliver whatever we were able to collect to Taci, sometime next week.

I'm still working on June's mission, part of it will be donating goods to either the Allen and/or Plano Animal Shelter, as well as another one. No other details yet.

As advance notice, the September Mission is going to be a class participation in the Hero's for Children 5K fun run/walk to benefit families of those dealing with young children with cancer. Julie and I have done this event many times in the past and it's always a family friendly, good time for all. So start getting in shape now! We might try to organize a brunch/breakfast after.

See you Sunday,
Wayne

RoughRiders game 6/19

Hey everyone,

Our next social is going to be a RoughRiders baseball game! I mentioned a date in class yesterday (6/5), but it turns out that that game has a bunch of large groups and I wasn't able to get enough seats together after all. So, the new date is going to be Friday, June 19th at 7:00. If we can get 20 people together (adults and kids 3 & up), the tickets are $15/person which includes your game ticket, all you can eat food/drinks, a RoughRiders cap, program, and our group name on the scoreboard. There are also fireworks after the game! So, please let me know ASAP if you can come and how many tickets you'll need so I can see if we have enough people to get the group rate. Thanks everyone! :)

Mother's Day Suprise

Nicholas Sloan Glover surprised us and decided to join us three weeks early. He was born on Mother's day at 9:28 PM. He weighed 6 lbs and 9 ounces and is 20 1/4 inches long. Baby and mother are both doing great and we will hopefully be going home tomorrow afternoon.

God has given us many gifts, but we are both overwhelmed by the magnitude of this one. Please keep us in your prayers.

Brett & Eileen

Missions Update

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to remind everyone that this month's mission is a drive to collect goods to send to our military troops. Place any items that you would like to donate in the box on/below the table in our room. We have 2 more weeks before I have to turn the stuff in, so that would make our cut off point in 2 weeks on May 24.

Thanks again,
Wayne

RoughRiders game

Hey everyone,

For our next social, I thought we could all go to a Frisco RoughRiders game! I've been looking at a few dates, but I would like to get everyone's input before choosing a date for the game. If we have enough people interested, we can even get a group rate! Here are the possibilities:

1. May 22-24 weekend (Memorial Day weekend)
2. June 5-7 weekend

I thought a Friday night game would be fun because they do fireworks that night :)

So, please let me know in the comments section if you're interested and what weekend works best. Then let me know how many tickets you would need (children 2 and under are free). Thanks so much!

~Lesley
