Joys and Concerns

First of all, I would like to offer a word of praise for a great mission project on Saturday- We had a big group, God was present, and we were blessed through serving others! Thanks to everyone who was there!
Virginia's friend Johnny's mom had a scan that didn't show anything additional, but they are still cautious as her condition usually starts somwhere else in the body. Please continue lifting their family in prayer
Sara- Jarod's aunt is doing much better!! Please continue to keep her in your prayers, as she may face the rest of her life (she's in her 50's) in rehab
Chad- his brother & parents moved out of town- his parents, to Round Rock, and his brother to Michegan
God bless you- have a wonderful week!!

Joys & Concerns

Greetings everyone - here are the joys and concerns:

Janessa - Bailey, thier female dog, was diagnosed with cancer and had to be put to sleep.

Karla – Karla has a friend who broke her ankle which will require the ankle to be non-weight bearing for 8-10 weeks. However, her dad's arm injury is continuing to improve and his physical therapy has been minimized to 2 days a week.

Michael Taylor – Michael’s dad is starting a new job in Tyler.

Janessa – Janessa is meeting this week to work out the details to go back to work part time.

We continued the Lent study this past Sunday. The topic discussed was Servanthood and the message was Jesus' way to greatness is the way of serving rather than being served.

Have a great week!

Volunteer Opportunity - Maundy Thursday Service

Hello everyone -

A request from Kyla Prestwood, Adult SS Coordinator: Kyla is looking for an adult SS class to volunteer 5-6 members to help usher the Maundy Thursday Service at 7:30pm on March 20th. The service is scheduled to last one hour. I think this would be a great opportunity for us during the Lenten season. Please reply or e-mail me at dnaser[at]tx[dot]rr[dot]com if you are interested in volunteering and if we are able to confirm enough volunteers I will let Kyla know.

Thanks!

Party Follow Up

Hey Guys,

It was really nice having everyone over to watch the game. I hope it wasn't too crowded or noisy with the all the rugrats running around. Thank you to all for bringing the good calorie loaded food. Special thanks to Sherrye & Dan for providing the hot dogs, deli tray, and all those fixings. A few dishes and such were left at our house I will bring them to class on Sunday. Have a great week.

Joys and Concerns

Friends,
Remember to keep your hearts and minds open to the season of Lent this week. Can you believe Ash Wednesday is almost here? To me, Lent is a reminder of the 'big picture'- and our promise from God of new life in Christ. What better reason to pause & praise God!!!

Here are your joys & concerns:
Michelle: Her nephew Dylan is having surgery on Tuesday
Jason: Their family friend's little girl Taylor's knee pain was a torn miniscus, not anything more serious. Their dog, Sohpie, is having hernia surgery.
Dan: Sister's move to Atlanta went well. His mom is leaving on Tuesday.
Mike: Found out that they are having a boy!!!!! (due late June/ early July)
Sara: Jarod's sister, Janae, is pregnant & will discover the sex at the next appointment!

Have a wonderful week- You are a blessing!!
Love in <><,
Suzanne

Mission Projects 2008

I have the first two mission projects on the books for 2008. As I mentioned in class we will be working with the new young adult ministries for a couple mission projects this year. Probably only these two we will do with the group as they try to get started and get their numbers up.

February 23 - Serve a meal at the Dallas Life Homeless Shelter (4-6:30...details to follow later)
April 25 - Friday Night Friends (tentative)

Please mark them on your calendar. I trust these will be rewarding projects that we can pay back to our community. If you could reply who will be able to participate this month I would appreciate it.

Jason
