Update on Luke...

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas holiday! Some of you expressed concern about Luke’s health so I wanted to give you the update. After a few uncertain days in the special care nursery he was diagnosed with transient tachypnea of the newborn (TTN). It affects 1-2% of babies and is basically a rapid breathing condition caused by fluid that remains in the lungs after birth. He was put on an IV and precautionary antibiotics due to an elevated white blood cell count. Fortunately, he passed all the tests including the heart diagnostics. Also that club foot the nurses told us he had turned out to be positional (that was the jabbing into my belly button for 3 months). We will be referred to a pediatric orthopedic, but it should be correctable.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. We feel very blessed and excited to have this little boy in our family. Have a happy New Year!!!

Janessa
