Joys & Concerns 8/9

Hello All,

We got a lot accomplished in class today with the selection of Michael as our new class president and the initial formation of the committees. A special thank you to Michael for all his time and effort over the past few weeks with our class improvement project. Next week we will pick back up with the marriage study chapter 3 Planning for Peace. The chapter centers around conflict resolution and how couples deal with anger in their relationships. Talking about fighting always proves for an interesting discussion. Guys vs. Girls come ready! :)

Joys & Concerns:
A wonderful joy this week, Amy & Phil are expecting their first child next march. Congratulations!

A special joy for the Glover family, Nicholas will be baptized next Sunday. He will be officially welcomed into the Custer Road church family at the 11am service.

Lesley and Chad are in the home stretch and counting down the days until their baby girl arrives. Lesley's due date is August 16th but if the little bundle of sweetness hasn't arrived by then she will be induced on August 18th.

Good news for Jason Lincoln, his colonoscopy went well. The test results were better than expected.

The Allisons will traveling to a family reunion this next week. Have a good and safe trip.

We do have a concern this week. At her work Baylor Plano Karla knows of surgeon who died of a heartattack while on vacation with his family. Please keep this family in your prayers as they deal with their loss.

Missions Reminder:
We are still collecting coloring books, markers, crayons, etc. for Children's Medical Center of Plano.

September 12th 5k run/walk for Heroes for Children at the Shops at Legacy. Heroes for Children is charity dedicated to helping North Texas families dealing with pediatric cancer.

Upcoming Socials:
Wayne is the new social chair and he and the committee will get working on a September social. Fun, fresh, new social ideas are always welcome.

I hope everyone has a great week and that we will see you next Sunday.

Julie
